The winemaker Fabien Demois has earned an excellent reputation for his wines, which reflect the terroir of the AOP Chinon in the Loire Valley in a particularly typical way. This wine comes mainly from Chenin Blanc vines from the Les Grands Bournais vineyard that are over 30 years old. The wine is fresh and energetic, with a fine acidity. Aromas of ripe pears and quinces as well as a subtle spicy note dominate the taste profile.
Despite its status as an appellation of red, white and ros wines, Chinon is a predominantly red (Cabernet Franc) wine region. Chinon is the appellation covering wines produced around the historic town of Chinon, in the central Loire Valley. This area has been producing wine for many centuries, and although wines of all three colors are made there, the focus is now very clearly on red wines.
